Somewhere around Swindon

well that was very short lived!

after a whole 18 miles of driving its lost loads of power, its almost like theres no boost at all, there no smoke or soot so cant be turbo seals and i cant seem to find any leeks from the boost hoses

is engine management light on?

no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.

no managment lights on

i just did a search on a vw/audi forum and a common problem is the MAF on this model, i disconnected it and it now pulls like a train

have reconnected it and will ring the dealer and euro in the morning

I've had some experience with these loosing power. Solutions I've found so far are:
1. Air mass meter
2. Boost pressure sensor
3. Blocked cat
4. Cracked turbine housing

Theres probably a few other problems I can't think of right now

EDIT: Looks like you diagnosed it yourself anyway

9 times out of 10 take out the air flow sensor by the air filter, clean it and all will be fine. it does tend to come back every now and again though.
