I'm trying to make up a gimbal, nothing to do with the car but a nice easy project but the whole thing has gone tits up as I can't bend the ally bar accurately enough, does anyone have access to a metal bender that can accurately bend some ally bar 1/4" by 1 1/4"

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem. |

when bending ally always use some heat, even if its just to aneal the metal first On 26th Oct, 2004 TurboDave16v said:
Is it A-Series only? I think it should be... So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'... On 26th Oct, 2004 Tom Fenton said:

Not sure how sharp you will be able to bend 1/4" plate. Have you considered cutting it and welding back together? |

Mike, it doesn't need to be a sharp bend just accurate, I'll post a picture of what I'm trying to make tomorrow.

Yes Rob, I can bend 1/4 plate accurately. Just make sure you have the right spec ally, otherwise it will crack on the bend. If memory serves its 5251 H22 Aluminium
