First mini turbo to get in the 12's & site perv

Herefordshire

Anyone got any experience in fitting wheels to a mini ?

I was wondering if there's any help/articles on the web about this ?
Still undecided as to what to do with it.
Is the wheel worth using/able to be used without the tyre ?

Any info would be great
Cheers

I recommend you go for round ones, a mate of mine tried square ones once but it didn't really help the ride.

By the way how may wheels do you want to fit, I've heard five is a good number but I've also heard of people who carry a spare one in the boot as well.

I heard on minifinity and TMF that if you want to have more dish, you can turn the wheels around the other way, if I where you i'd secure them with cable ties to be extra safe.

Wouldn't the car go backwards if you turned the wheels round the other way?

no dont be stupid! its your steering that gets reversed! how can turning a wheel around affect your gearbox! *Punch*

Rob, I think you need to use the search function before you can fully grasp the concept that is "mirroring" the steering rack axis. It's not a conversion to be taken lightly and youre going to need the right kit to do it all. I got my conversion kit from Argos Extra.

in order to get the clearance needed for the 13" wheels (any width) you need to do minor body mods.

with an angle grinder chop from just in front of the door handle in a 45degree incline (straight line) up to the indicator height.

then in another straight line go straight down the the indicator on the front panel. (the cut will wrap around the front of the car)

you do not really need arches but i like the look of the superbadboi kit that is available for chavsportsrs.com

hope that helps.

oh but dont forget that this will be different with the reversed wheels, mirror steering effect.

I might have a go at this tomorrow, thanks for the tips James.

I was thinking earlier, will I need to modify the standard gearbox to cope with 280bhp at the wheels or will the 180k mile transmission suffice?

generally the running gear on those can cope with 500bhp standard up untill around 150k and then after that they start to deminish at around 1wbhp per 3 meters.

to get around this you simply need to keep you washer fluid fresh and topped up. i have seen them cope with 685.24586bhp (RR print out provensortofish) for 200k easy with good washer fluid. this was on standard bottom end and boost but we upped the CR to achieve the power.

i suggest you do the same.
