hi, iv gone down to measure up today with regards to altering my bulkhead to fit a turbo box. the box i bought from the guy who makes them on here. it is very good quality.

was wondering what other options there are, as fitting such a box will remove the stud and bolt holes on the bulkhead tht an ultimate engine steady attatches to?

i have fitted these to all of my minis in the past. my old mpi went through standard and uprated bushed and ferrels in no time. i also like the solid feel of the engine when driving. i am worried that i will be changing these bushes every 5 mins with a turbo engine in the car.

hopefully i will be solid mounting the front subframe.

what do people here use to keep the engine from flopping about?

many thanks

i thik the common thing to do is fabricate a new bracket for your steadie and weld it on when you do your box, well thats what i did any.

no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.

i use one of the rose jointed top steadies in the normal place with a std lower one and its fine, no extra ultimate steady.

I have pretty much the same as nick only with the addition of the back gearbox steady as used on the 1275gt's. So far so good and the engine is solid.

ive got the two rear gearbox steadys from mini spares and polly mounts on the standard engine too clutch area steady, as well as quick release mounts.
i made up my own baulkhead box and welded 3mm plate into the baulkhead with 8mm nuts welded into it,
i cant stand the ultimate steady though *Sick* makes the engine a pig to work on
