Rear beam instead of subframe & lighten front subframe? Carbon boot floor, chop out rear bins & excess on rear seat bench?

Also lots of titanium parts from Carl lol!

got alloy rear hubs, rear disks and i always do big poo's! Subframes could do with a hole saw or 10, rear bins and seat already done. I have a titanum clutch arm and plunger from carl?

it might not be CDS? It might just be normal no seam tube, it was a heavy little thing, but with a carbon roof i wouldn't run without it!

Sell the cage and get a T45 one.

fiberglass/pure carbon front.

Force racing titanium front subframe.

attack the rear subframe with a holesaw.

remove headling rails.

remove rear seatbelt mounts.

remove rear doorcard mounts.

is the cage a full weld in? and tied to the body? if so:

rear bulkhead, and then knock up an ally gaurd/bulkhead for the tank.

lighter seats.

is it carbon over fiberglass or pure carbon? if its over fiberglass then replace with pure.

oh and not to forget the titanium pinion nut.

its all about the titanium pinion nut!

Ha ha, but not compared to real cars.

I mean, my Elise is plastic, yet it still weighs more.

I should have said those Corbeau seats are at least 9kg each - we'll weigh them separately if you come back.

Oh and Matty I don't mind re-weighing yours if want to see if your maths is as good as your lightening! Lol

Sure the nitrous bottle weigh about 24ib when full each. I would have said a fair bit of weight could be lost out of the front end?

If the tyres have alot of pressure in them I've heard alot of weight can be saved by letting them down a bit.

haha

"did you find anything out down the weigh station?"
"yeah my cruiser weighs 16 hundred kilos!!"

i wouldnt be too alarmed at that weight with a cage buckets and extinguishers/nitrous bottles

in fact, if my rally car comes in under 650kgs ill be chuffed.

nic has hit the nail on the head here, no good weighing vehicles minus fluids etc etc. a true kerbside weight is what you want to use ie full tank and all fluids etc in the engine.

remember more Weight IE metal you chop out = less protection in a smash. make sure you tie the cage in properly as per james's comment, if you are going for full tied in cage lose the roof and put a curly one on, carbon doors, lose the inner wings, curly carbon front end, carbon boot floor ally hubs weigh up how much difference there is between a beam and stock subby. run 10's not 13's anything that is not essential ie heaters etc etc lose em....... carpets lose em...... door cards and that shite lose em..... if you are keeping stock doors cut the inners out run perspex on all screens except the front obviously....

the question is where do you stop !?

Building the clubby I've using the approach of looking at every part I bolt together and asking myself I can I make it lighter. I not going to list ever thing I've done but there is a lot of little bits that get over looked.
