im putting together an engine with a new crankshaft but the pulley bolt is to small in diameter, to make sure i wasnt going mad i tried the bolt in the end of the crank on my spares engine and its fine, so the new need a bigger botl, i cant find any larger crank bolts anywhere, im lost :S

Three options:

Did 998 & 1275 cranks have the same thread? (I think so but I'm not 100% sure)

The crank has been drilled & tapped in the past (possibly due to the thread being stripped)

You've got the wrong bolt mate.

That's about all I can think off.

Let's have a picture of the bolt you are trying to use against a ruler showing length and width (diameter)

Don't the SC twinks use a longer crank pulley bolt. I could be talking shit but I think I remember reading that. Anyway, if they do and your first few threads are knackered you could use one of those.
I'm using a 998 crank pulley bolt with a trigger wheel, Cooper S damper and pulley and had no issues so I dont think 998s and 1275s have different bolts
