Hi. I need a boss to weld in to the exhaust. There seems to be two sizes also all the ones I've found are stainless steel will that weld to a mild steel exhuast manifold?
Which size would I need for a wide band lambda?

yes stainless will weld to mild steel no problem,

I got mild steel ones off eBay no problem a couple of months ago...

Yes, you can weld stainless to mild but I'm a perfectionist so wanted like for like :)

And, as above, M18 X 1.5

I bought a HSS tap as well, IMO it's worth running a tap through after welding the boss on as they do shrink slightly with welding - I'd rather pay for the tap than a written off LSU when I try to undo it later... but be aware the thread is not the standard metric ISO coarse so if you do want to buy a tap to run through, you have to shop around :)
