as some of you know my car was stolen in mid December, the police found it on the 20th but still have it and wont release it to the insurance company..

Happened to me. They found the car, took it somewhere 10 miles away. Then brought it back within 1/4 mile away to a garage. 4 days £160! Gutted On 19th Jan, 2010 wil_h said:

do you know where it is being held? do you have a spare key for it? if its not to fucked drive it home! its not stealing the car its yours! lol on a serious note, my friend has just had an accident his insurance is still procecing even when it was the other persons fault! if you can rember from when my bike got stolen ages ago im still waiting for parts/money from them! Drives

cant release the car until all forensics etc have been completed. you need to find out who the "OIC" is of the case speak with him or her direct. if it is an insurance write off they wont release it to you. speak with your insurance firm tell them who the OIC is and ask for an update. i hope you took out Gap insurance matey.

fully appreciate your situation Mark, been there myself, and yes it is an awfull feeling being Burgled. Be patient and polite with the cops as they are trying to catch the baddies so no one else gets stung.

I always wondered this, do you hide your keys to deter people who are on the scrounge for easy targets or do you leave them somewhere they can be found to prevent being bashed for them by someone armed and desperate for a car? On 7th Nov, 2008 Nic said:

they are going to go to the letter box and check, if there is nowt on tuther side they will move on to an easier target, criminals have deadlines just like regular folk, and new cars like Marks are normally stolen to order for parts, or export my a handfull of eastern europeans.... (not stereo typing but they are the best at this game hands down)

moved all the keys in my house when the kitchen and enterance got re-done, they used to be kept in a wicker draw difficult to open but not that secure. now they are kept in a sweet jar in the kitchen :) crafty lol Drives
