Have you seen that red top turbo that was in mini magazine recently. That had the exhaust pointing out next to the wheel. Under the front panel il try and find a pic |

yeah i saw it but its not road legal, exhaust must exit behind front axle Yes i moved to the darkside |

Ive built a car with exhaust exiting infront of the front axle. Owner never had any trouble. Tbo in very much considering doing the same with my mini if i ever get it back together lol turbo 16v k-series 11.9@118.9 :)

Brett have you thought about those stumpy inline silencers? 1/4 Mile 14.3secs 96Mph Terminal 10psi of boost.

With the clubby front it gives enough room higher up to have the turbo on a top mount type manifold

or a clubman front with a splitter? just change the mounting points for the front end to give more room cut the section out. seen this done quite a few times on 16v mini forum.

if i go clubby i will definitely build a new manifold, it would be the only reason for the clubman front, i want to keep it round nose for the reason Dave said afew posts back,

Thats just too close fitting it all in standard round nose to even think bout fitting a larger front or clubby front! Keep going to keep it all tucked in what u got!! On 24th Oct, 2015 jonny f said:

Hmm. That looks like it will set fire to swathes of hedgerow.. as well as the occasional pedestrian. That sir, is not rust, it is the progressive mass reduction system

How much extra room do you have if you bring the turbo flange up to the bottom of the head flanges? Looks like you could tuck it back another inch is so? And possibly get the downpipe exiting behind the front panel left hand indicator. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Fusion-Fabri..._homepage_panel

It also helped with keeping the turbo oil return above oil level in the sump. |

There is space there that can be used but the dipstick lug and pipe sits behind the exhaust turbine, also the subframe would be in the way of any down pipes, the indicators were removed because the housings fouled on the subframe( to give exam0le of how little pace there is) I can only use pics that are already here on tm but this one shows part of the subby Edited by Brett on 5th Jun, 2020.
