Need advice/input

No idea what to get, looking to spend no more than a grand as it will prob get dropped on the first bend

Have always had a thing for the cbr400rr (pretty sure this is what ill go for), then everyone raves about gsx600s

Im not after anything too mental, and not fussed about it being fast/racy, dont want to be over the tank all the time, maybe something like a fazer 600 might be good?

Then i think a husaberg would be ace in the summer...but ive got the crosser for offroad fun, so if I get a road bike, i may aswell get a proper one rather than an enduro style one...

I literally have no idea

Not considering cruisers/chopper, viragos and the like arent my cup of tea at the moment

Bare in mind it will be a sunny day/jolly over the hill/hare back down the mountain type job, maybe the odd track day if i ever sum up the stones.

My bro got a Hornet 250 as his first proper bike. Its also available in 600, I think. It's essentially a more relaxed CBR and the 250 uses a detuned version of a CBR250RR engine.

Beware: I am talking about bikes. A subject in which I have no knowledge or interest

EDIT: 2 spelling mistakes!!! Shock, horror

vfr or rvf400 with out a doubt

the v4 400 hondas are better than the inline 400 honda's

How about a Ducati monster 600?

They are cheap now and look great, i presume they are quite cheap to insure too, when I was 21 I had a quote of £300 on a 900 version when I didnt even have a licence

My first bike was a CBR 400 loved it was the kind of bike where you could react quicker than it could (well after a few months), then I got my self a ZX600 that was a weapon but a lot of fun, I then got the mini and in the last two years I have inherited a VFR900 and a K1 both lovely machines but the bike is just not my cup of tea anymore freezing cold wet and normal after having about 20 nearly I called it quits the car is much more fun and a dam sight safer.

vfr/rvf has a lot more low down power although it does not rev as hard personally i think its a nicer bike, i had the vfr and rode a gull arm cbr it was tiring after 30-40 as you have to rag the shit out of it unlike the v4

The VFR's are a great bike and would be ideal for you imo, whatever you get you will enjoy it living where you are :)

Daytona 600 or 650 If not Honda CBR 600 F both cracking entry level bikes that you can ride for miles or do a little scratching on. All other 600 class bikes are either to twitchy in the wet or require you to rev the nuts out of them to get them to wake up

This was my first bike, Ducati Monster 750, highly modified, covered in polished ally. Lovely bike to ride, handles like a dream, made beautiful noises *happy*

Note: Joey, check the tail. One of the first things I did was hacksaw the 4 inches of kak off the back. quite a common mod. cleans the lines up nicely.

Don't knock it till you've ridden one! Still the most beautiful naked bike ever. all the rest followed from the Monster.

My mate had a DUCATI (Super Sport I think) and you could not start it with the stand down he would sit there for ages letting it warm up. According to him thats what the bike did from new and was designed that way*surprised*. Odd I know thats why I asked.
