i have now got a t2 from dan and i need to know a few things
1)if you do use the mirage manifolds what needs to be done to the tab for the actuator to fit without mods
2) if you got the other route what needs doing to the t3 manifold to fit the t2
3) how do you rotate the compressor housing to point the outlet upwards like on a t3
i've done a search but it must be too early for me cos i can't seem to find what i need.
thanks in advance
DAN :)

Don't know about 1 and 2

But for 3 I am fairly sure it is just a case of slackening 3 M8 bolts, rotating comp housing to where you want it, and tighten bolts again

alright dan, point 1). is fairly simple, although easier to explain having the turbo in front of you.

the wastegate lever points away from the turbo towards the cross member, you have to cut off the lever and re-weld it to point toward the engine instead.

this obviously affect the actuator function, so it has to be swapped sides, ie. moved from the compressor side to the turbine side, it will need a bracket knocking up to hold the actuator in position.

point 3). a) to rotate the compressor housing there is a large circlip which if you can get hold of it you should then be able to rotate the housing.

point 3). b) to rotate the turbine housing there are 4 bolts which clamp some closing plates to the housing, slacken these and it should go round, may need a bit of a gentle tap though.

point 2). if you do a bit of searching on here you should see about some T2 adaptor plates that were being made up to allow fitting of the T2 on the T3 metro manifold

cheers!

Not very sunny swanage

1, not too sure, ask someone whos done it, but i think you need to cut the tab and weld it back at 180 degrees.

2, well what ive done, is to make up an adapter plate, tke the studs out of the tubby manifold, and drill and tap the face of it so i can bolt my adapter plate to it using high tensile machine screws, then youve got to start making up the exhaust otlet fot the turbo etc.

3, t2's cold side is secured by the big circlip. 1st thing to do is to support the turbo on the inlet to the cold side and fillup the area around the circlip with wd40, leave it over night. then either use circlip pliers to pinch the clip (you do not need to take it out) and spin, or you may be able to just turn the cold side with a bit of force without pinching the clip.

hth, if anybody want piccys of my adapter plate let me know. im not too good with posting, but i can email!

Pete

edit, and thats what happens when three post coincide!

i think i might just have to go the mirage manifolds route, i am not too good at fabricating things, i've only just learnt to weld!
best get saving...
