i know how 2 time cams in n ring gaps n everything but i just got no idea what 2 charge to build a engine for this person!! he knows what im cabable of and how good i am If I've translated this right... "I know how to time cams in (set cam timing correctly) and ring gaps (and set ring gaps) and everything (well, there's an awful lot more to building and engine than "everything")..." "But I've just got no idea how much to charge to build an engine for this person." "He knows what I'm capable of (obviously not spelling) and how good I am." I would suggest you tell him to look at this forum then, and after a few searches, he/she can make their own mind up. To be honest, I wouldn't pay anyone to "build an engine" unless they had a proven track record of doing it and were respected by others on the forum for work already done. That's why I do mostly my own work, and where I have to use a machine shop (ie, offset boring) I rely on others on the forum with proven experience, to tell me who they have used and how good they are. If I was going to advertise myself as an "engine builder" for an "A" series turbo and ask the forum how much I should charge for my work, I would at least post up some relevant experience and customer satisfaction. The thing is if you get someone to build an engine (say MED) then when built it comes with some back-up. so if it goes tits-up the buyer isn't out of pocket.

Dubble D I have built quite a few engines at this stage every one is different and is priced differently I work out my price on cost of parts, Labour and an admin fee I also offer a race back up service which is included in the price, It is quite complicated to work out pricing and I dont think anyone here is going to give a price you should charge
