Hi, if i was to fit a metro turbo engine to my mini, can i use a standard front subframe or does it need a modded one? if a standard one will do, do i need any extra parts?
Thanks Chris

I'm going to answer this one as I'm not so sure a search will reveal the answer- I've not seen it asked before as most people take it for granted.

SO-

Standard one can be used with no problems.

Why? Seemed reasonable enough to me, written in coherent english with punctuation and a thanks at the end, its better simply in the level of politeness than many questions we see on here in my experience.

some people start with not as much knowledge as others.

i dont think its a good idea to start slating people that really do seem to want to learn, just because they are starting off with less knowledge than others.

True, and it has taught me a valuable lesson, as you said the things some take as a given throw up question marks to others. My point, no question is a bad one. Keep asking away fella

Mpi front subbys i belive have the engine slightly futher forward, this will give a litlle more room around the turbo area :)

And get an adjustable engine steady to go with that subframe or you will hang your head in woe as I did.

It was most subframes from 1990 onwards, depends if you want more room for the turbo or more room for intercoolers etc... Don't forget the engine steady as mentioned and the rod change.
