I've got a ferroli f30 boiler, been working great for years, but now I find when running hot water, it often goes cold for 20% of the time. Any ideas what to check in the boiler??

do you think it could be the thermcouple?

Cheers

Jim

Not a clue, but try the plumbing forums they are very helpful when you ask questions. Plus I think with your experience with engines you could handle a Boiler *wink*

leeds/wakefield.

i doubt its the thermo couple jim this primarlily keeps the gas valve open ready fire up , if it fails its usually terminal ,ie gas wont light and stay lit,
or put even simpler , theremo couple fails gas valve stays shut,

could be the thing in our boiler that plays up occationally (vokera soemthing or other) it sences when a tap opens and water flows, and subsequently fires up the boiler. in ours its a diafrm thing that moves a lever. last time it stopped delivering hot water when the tap was opened it only needed a wee squirt of wd40 and started moving again. as you can probably tell though, im no expert *happy*
