after speaking to benross, he recommend omega pistons, but i am on a bit of a budget to get the engine ready for l2b,

i have seen the minispares mega pistons, but believe you need morspeed to dish them to 10cc ?

just browsing the morspeed weebsite, and seen these advertised

TURBO 21253 13cc piston set +20-40-60

£185.00

this is the only info on the website, anyone know anything about them, new to this. but 13cc is going to give a bloody low comp with a benross head, but sure he could sort me out..

recomendations please, and most appriciated

other wise a good member on here may well dish the megas out for you for a few sheckels if you want to place a post !

Ben, what kinda boost do they take or power? found on the site a kit can take 15psi.. I assume that?

Lightweight racer coming soon.

so, a 10cc dish will suffice for decent boost? Does that apply to 1380cc pistons too, or does the ratio change? I've got a Longman GT15 head to play with here; will measure cc shortly. I've been looking at decompression plates, but would rather do it properly and gain some cubic capacity in the process:)

The size of the dish in the pston dosnt really determine the amount of boost that you can run, it just a major factor.

its (together with the quality of the components) the compression ratio (CR) that you need to pay attention to.

a CR of around 8.5:1 is what is seen as acceptable for high boost engines.

your compression ratio is determined by your piston dish, combustion chamber, ring lands, head gasket (i have probably missed a couple of minor ones)

so you can see its not neccesarily a 10cc piston thats good for high boost as a low dish piston will just mean moe to be taken out of the head, and a deeper dish piston will mean less to be taken out of the head.

Hope That Helps.

If it's a 1380, to get the same compression as an equivalent 1293 you'll require more volume above the piston. Because the 1380 has a greater swept volume.
