lol i feel like such a dumb ass for even asking this question but i have just gone to change the discs and pads on my 1980 clubby i was told it had 7.5" cooper s discswhen i bought it (and have since measured them), i bought a 'brake kit' from minispares (part no: ms35) and they are completely different *happy*
ive done a quick search for pics but no luck anyone?

the callipers looks like an 8.4 setup and the drive flangeaswell but its not 8.4"*oh well* the pads have plenty of life in them but look at the state i would like to change asap lol*happy*

they must have been, the discs definitely not 8.4 but no signs of modifications to the mount on the callipers, i have 8.4 discs and callipers mocked up on my other mini waiting for some 4pots from minisport ill just swap them over when the 4pots get here i think, they only went to santapod and back (on a car transporter lol)

From your picture it looks like 1/4" wide ring of the disc is not being used which leads me to the following conclusion cooper S callipers on 8.4 discs if such a thing is possible. *Confused*

Is the nut undone on the top ball joint for a reason?

new 8.4" discs and pads have gone on, the disc that came off was about 8.2"?? the pads was fucked, cracked and bits missing, the other side is worse lol brakes are alot better now, the calipers need a service desperately, this mini hasnt been looked after well at all :( i should have change these alot sooner, i just taken the calipers of my other mini, going to refurb them then swap them over, one day my vented 4pots from minisport will turn up... lol
