I first saw these advertised in a Motorsport mag, ofcourse the price was actractive but you realy need to feel these kind of items in your hand to asses the quality.

http://www.v2sport.com/v2sport.html

By chance I came accross their stand at the Autosport show and was very impressed with the product.

I found them very well built with a quality finish, I find Simpson helmets for example very "plasticcy" at a huge price.

I may be going going for one of these myself this season.

I am not connected to this product financially but I wish I was because it is great!!

I too saw these helmets advertised before the autosport show and it was nice to try one. Unfortunately due to my tiny head even the extra small was too big. The bloke did say the the next batch to be made was addressing this. So I may go for one too.

Good find. I have a Simpson and dont find it too comfortable. Might be worth ordering these at such a good price.

There are a lot of crappy helmets out there. Most of the 'internet only' brands are crap.

The V2 site notes that the helmets are SA2005 certified. Yet when you check out the SNELL site, the official list of SNELL SA2005 certified helmets does not include any V2 brand products.

They may well be using the SNELL certification falsely...and if that is the case, I wouldn't buy one of these helmets in a million years. If it is not SNELL certified, I certainly would never put it on my head.

For inexpensive and safe helmets, maybe you should check out HJC. They make some good SA2005 helmets.

I bought one from Demon Tweaks. I was very happy with the service, and came away with a decent helmet for the price I wanted to pay for the amount of time I use it. Its one from the Impact range. http://www.impacthelmets.com/impacthelmets.htm

I might have got it cheaper else where, but the bloke at Demon Tweaks was great, considering it wasnt exactly a £600 item, and most of the time you dont mind paying a little more for that personal attention

I can't see that these helmets are not approved. they have had quite a high profile add campaign, if they quote snell they will be. However, I am sure that they are upsetting other brands. Their add campaign is something like: "People ask why our helmets are so cheep, we say why are others so expensive?"

I am certain the V2 helmets are made in Poland, but what is not made abroad these days?

Will's comment about others being so expensive is true.

They must be Snell approved approved with all the advertising in the motoring press.

My lid is out of date come the end of the season and I will be buying a V2 on the grounds that it is a very good quality helmet at the right price. and meets the correct approval.

I have had a good look at these lids at the Autosport show and I can comfirm they are well made, fireproof and have a good quality feel.

Further more for what I will be using it for I am very well protected in a safe place protecting the driver. By the regs we have to have the roll cage padded around the head area so little chance of head damage, it is the whiplash you want to worry about.

How many of you trackday warriors have bought a Hans devise or similar?

Good Point JF It was brought in to the Regs in the Irish Mini Chalange that all drivers from 2010 must use a HANDS device but that not going to be a problam as nearly all the drivers have them now all ready,

I am building a Track worrier at the moment and after trying one of the lads V2's Ill be geting the same my self as JF has already said there is a good qulity feal to them and there a nice price,
Also If you get you HANDS from the states it comes with a Post fiting kit which is the job we retro fitted a Sparco lid with them at the start of the season and it was a piece of cake.

Schuberth! they come with a built in flip down grey visor and the primary clear visor has an anti fog coating as standard. Best visibility of any helmet I have ever worn and is designed to allow the easy installation of a coms system. The front of the helmet is a nice distance from your mouth and chin thus allowing for comfortable mic. placement.

If your worried about whip lash go for the SC1 carbon, got one after my SC1 got a proper testing its as light as a pair of slipers so you can wear it all day with little or no neck fatigue issues.

Edit:
Jut to add this. Always check the date the helmet was made, this should be clearly visible on one of the tags fixed to the helmet. The outer shell has a 5 year life. Also check that the helmet has got the gold sticker on the back, if it comes with that it does not matter whether it costs £25 0r £700 its approved for use in motor sports. The only helmet I know that does not come with the gold sticker but does comply is the Schuburth SC1 as metioned above. The only issue with these is the only place to get a tinted visor is direct from the factory and to do so you need to provide your competition credentials due to the fact tinted visors are not road legal as we all know.

Gold sticker?... WRONG!

Are you getting it confused with motorcycle sports?

If we are talking Just good lids yes get to a motorcyle shop and buy the best you can afford but I am talking Race use in UK.
