Water by a long way.

Specific mass of water is 1 whist TI is about 4.5.

As an aside steel is about 8 and aluminum is about 2.5 useful to know when working out weight savings.

Put it the other way around... "what's heavier, water or titanium?"

Now throw a lump of Ti into water and see if it floats !!!

Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ???

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

1kg of water is 1 litre and a specific gravity of 1. everything else is compared to water *happy*

Actually I'm pretty sure that a ton or water weights the same as a ton titanium.

both the same, but if it was a tonne of sand and a long ton of fethers then...
the feathers would weigh 16kg more... but if it was a short ton then it would be 93kg less...

so there!

Does the "ton" "Tonne" thing piss anyone else off? The words are completely redundant in conversation as nobody call tell which one you said
