Just thought I'd post a few pics of the crank for my new engine after it came back from being balanced. I'm finally getting somewhere - the block is prepped and the pistons, rods and crank are ready to go back in. Next thing is to decide what head and cam I'm going for.

The crank is a billet short-stroke (64.3mm) unit, which with the 74mm bore (not my choice - the spec as I bought it) will give me 1106cc. With the 1.4x equivalency for forced induction that brings me to 1549cc - just a bit short of the 1600 class limit.

Notice that the crank has a long nose with keyways to allow two pulleys - my guess is that it was orginally made for a supercharged engine.

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

Mike the cranks been polished a tad........ but its rather heavy as Carl pionts out.

with that stroke the engine will be a screamer for sure!

i would go for the phase 2 cam and time it in a little late possibley around 112 deg depending on the bower your contenplating on a T2 possibley ? ???
................ anyone else ? *smiley*

the design shows a distinct lack of imagination,
talk about starting off with a clean sheet of paper, then not bothering to fucking draw on it,lol

Looks great. Heavy crank is good when you're dealing with a screamer. Especially when the weight is in the correct place, like yours. I'm jelous!

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem.

I agree! I really like the look of that crank! Do you know who made it?

Phase 2 is the current favourite - planning to run with a GT1752 turbo.

I've got a bit more than this done - the box is ready but still a lot to do - not sure about Curborough but definately don't want to miss Shelsley in May.

Don't know much about the crank - all I know is that it came out of an engine built by Bryan Slark.
