Hi guess i know this has been posted a few times, but i just cant seem to get my head around whats involed, currently i run a brake http://www.minispares.com/Product.aspx?ty=pb&pid=34058 basically ive that that i need a differant pedel box(does any one have one and how much do they go for? basically its time to fit an intercooler and having the brakeservo is jsut making Pipework almost impossible to route, well removing it is jsut going to remove most of the head ache, i know i need a yellow tag master cylinder from minispares but how does this actually mount will i need to make a bracket(some pictures would be absolutly fantastic)

any feedback would be great
cheers matt

The yellow tag one should just bolt in place of the existing servo etc. You will need an older type pedal box (It shouldn't cost too much 2nd hand) and you will need to blank of the hole in you're manifold for the vacume pipe to the servo.

You may also need the balance thingy of the bulk head and obviously the new pipe work.

Mtt,

I'm doing exactly the same thing for exactly the same reason, and as apbellamy says, you should really get a new pedal box too (). However, I'm going to try and get a bush sorted to adapt the later pedal box to suit the master cyl. puchrod hole Ø. Once I get my Mini back from the paintshop, that is (I'd hoped to get the brakes sorted before painting but this problem scuppered those plans)

You can just squeeze the intercooler pipes past the servo though, but it's really tight (in fact the problem I've got is fouling on the clutch res cap now!)

Oh - and to get the "servo linkage" off the brake arm, it's more like a rivet than a clevis pin, you'll need to cut it off I think.

Green tag Type 4 M/Cyl and servo with late pedalbox plus Ford Series 2 RS Turbo slam panel mounted intercooler.

If I can get this lot in, so can you.

See Oct 08 Minimag for details.

Good luck.

Richard.

Oh, and I used a Metro clutch master cylinder with a made up flexi pipe to the Verto slave cylinder.

The whole body and reservoir is much smaller making it easy to turn it around on the standard pedal box studs and face into the rear bulkhead (slight bulkhead relief required but not massive). Plus it doesn't get hot from the turbo.

It makes fiitting the i/c return pipe to the plenum a whole lot easier as it frees up space normally taken up by the standard clutch master cyl.
