I lost motivation for my build at around the end of november, my engine is in the car and has been sat in there since the start of november ish!!

Completely dry bar the build lubes and cam lubes etc. It's been sat in my shell which is on the driveway, im just worried what with all the cold weather everything internally will be ok?

I'm thinking once its back on its wheels I can fill it with oil and push it up and down the driveway in gear so get the oil around everywhere but im just really paranoid now!

The only worry I'd have would be that the cylinders might have got damp and rusted, especially if there is no carb etc on.

The engine internals will be fine IMO.

After the assembly, did you turn it over on the starter to get oil pressure?

Nope, not got that far its had no oil through it!! Which is what makes me worried!!

Wil, thats my main worry as its not been run since the rebore so the cylinders wont have glazed, I put the carb and plenum on first thing and squirted oil down the plug holes when I originally put the engine in.

If there is a little surface rust, the rings would remove it yeah but will it fudge the rings up?

Thanks guys

Its scrap! I will give you 20 quid plus post! !! ! Only kidding it should be fine since you put some oil in the plug holes. I am presuming you turned it by hand?

Oohhh tempting offer, I wont go any lower than £25 though!

Nahh I used my darth vader force to turn it over, but my asthma got the better of me (only kidding, I dont have asthma, but I do have "the force").

Mine sat for nearly a year! But I have to admit everything was covered in assembly lube.

Thats a good point, the sooner I get it on the road the sooner I can contribute, it'll become hot allll year round, perfect weather to work on the car then :) Mmmm the warm feeling inside.

James, tell me about it, the cars pretty much done!!

Its hard when I go and buy another car which has the same power, comfy, quiet, warm and looks alright for what it cost me to build my gearbox haha.

Ahh well, looking foward to this season, still need brakes though, oooh and a job.
