If it doesnt like no choke then I guess the mixture is too lean, tell him to richen it up a bit so it'll idle with no choke when its up to temp.

there is a load of things to check over first, i would fix the carb sounds like ()presuming no holes in it) the needle that cuts the fuel from going into the carb is stuck open, this could be because of dirt in the float bowel, punctured float, dodgy needle, and maybe more i cant think off

sorry dont think i under stand? Fuel has leaked out the carb into the sump (and filled it)and is now leaking out the clutch housing?

Has split not un common From the latest description, I agree 100% Yes, it will still flow slowly through the split diaphragm with the engine off if (a) the tank level is high enough or (b) a syphon has started from last time it was run. As stated, do NOT run the engine with that much fuel in the oil. Best outcome, shot bearings, worst, a large bang...... The actual fix is simple (new pump and change the oil/filter) but not if it gets run like it is now..... Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ??? |
