I was cleaning up a set of standard turbo pistons I intend to use and found some damage on the surface of 2 of them. basically it looks like small pits the size of a grain of sharp sand if that makes sense. there is one pit mark in each piston.

no photos at the moment but any ideas what has caused this or if i can still use the pistons??

cheers

Rob

The pits arent in the same place on each one are they?

If they are all the same they possibly are to do with manufacturing

Email the pic to me..

PIC BELOW

To me it looks like a small bit of debris that at one time hit the top of the piston causing a slight mark

Definately not Det, so nothing to worry about there.

Leyland, Lancs

Should clean up if there's any sharp edges and be useable I'd have said.

No, but you did chuck your guts up over my front gate the Saturday before! You even managed to get a bit in your arm pit...

I picked up a set of rings for them when I first intended to build the engine - looking back at timesacales, it was probably 5 years ago since I got them

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...
