Where will the human race be in the next 50 years? Will we be obsolite? Will the world resemble something from the Terminator films?

Scarey! take a look at the Asimo robot today, with its very human like movements, and recently its learning capebilities.

I think theres a flaw. It cant stand itself up after you have pushed it over on its arse *hehe!*

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

well, a while back (60s?) there was a train of thought that we would be outdated by 2000, but not much has changed really...

at the moment i think computer tecnology is leveling out, theres not too much more that can be done before getting the heat out becomes a massive issue.

I think the next "quantum leap" in computing could be a switch from binary systems to decade based systems, imagine computations where rather than yes or no you can have "levels" of yes or no.

Heat has been a massive issue for years, remember the 586, and as for fuzzy logic that's got to be getting on for near 15-20 years old now and neural networking must be about the same.

However I think computer technology is starting to level out but not because it's hitting the physical limits but because current system meet 99% of users needs so why invest expensive research money there.

I reckon we'll be in a civil war against all the border jumpers finding their way into the country *angry* .

I wouldnt mind a bit of mad max style stuff in the mini's either, we would all have to unite and defend ourselves.

With the disturbing trend in antisocial behaviour, by 2059 we will be bashing each others heads in with rocks & eating the jelly inside.

Ahhh.....dont tell anyone, or that will be the next round of global warming taxes !!!! Anyone who owns a comptuer has to pay tax !!

Where will we be in 2059 ? Buried under a mountain of debt paying off idiotic taxes, unless there has been a revolution to overthrow the dirty lowlife corrupt governments doing it to us.

9.85 @ 145mph
202mph standing mile
speed didn't kill me, but taxation probably will

In 50 years I will probably be in a nursing home sat in a pool of my own piss shouting gibberish about mini's & turbochargers.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.
