Where will the human race be in the next 50 years? Will we be obsolite? Will the world resemble something from the Terminator films?

Scarey! take a look at the Asimo robot today, with its very human like movements, and recently its learning capebilities.

well, a while back (60s?) there was a train of thought that we would be outdated by 2000, but not much has changed really...

at the moment i think computer tecnology is leveling out, theres not too much more that can be done before getting the heat out becomes a massive issue.

I think the next "quantum leap" in computing could be a switch from binary systems to decade based systems, imagine computations where rather than yes or no you can have "levels" of yes or no.

Heat has been a massive issue for years, remember the 586, and as for fuzzy logic that's got to be getting on for near 15-20 years old now and neural networking must be about the same.

However I think computer technology is starting to level out but not because it's hitting the physical limits but because current system meet 99% of users needs so why invest expensive research money there.

I reckon we'll be in a civil war against all the border jumpers finding their way into the country .

I wouldnt mind a bit of mad max style stuff in the mini's either, we would all have to unite and defend ourselves.

I think murder will be taking place for gearbox casings

In my head everything is wonderful, global warming is just a distant memories, chavs were a thing of the past, no litter anywhere all the gardens have lovely mowed lawns, everyone is driving around in silent hydrogen powered cars and the only thing alowed to run on gasloline is classic/racing cars lol
