So after a search a few months ago, i realised i didn't want to go down the hassle of rear beam and the whole new mounting point for my exhaust anti roll bar etc etc, so last night i took my subframe out and cut it in half, good bye rear half of the subframe.....

Consider making your own beam and trailing arms.
Edited by paul wiginton on 14th Feb, 2009. I seriously doubt it! |

paul, i have KAD arms, rear discs pro tech rear shocks etc, I started to day and i reckon i could get it somewhere near 15 kg including brakes etc, which i will be more than happy with, unforunately the KAD rear anti-roll bar is a bit industrial weight weighs, so that could weigh it down a little more....Got the aluminium exhaust to work though..... Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem. |

well pretty much as far as weight saving is going its not much difference, although lighter its probably only a 1KG saving, I have created a much nicer looking subframe, but not only that its incooperating the anti-roll bar etc. plus i can now weld on tabs etc so i can add a flat plate under the subframe etc.....to act like a rear diffuser/venturi.
