Finally got round to fitting the mini mpi rad to make room for R5 intercooler (thermostate in intercooler blanked off).



Along with the repositioning of the air filter to get it some some cooler air flow i gained 10bhp at wheels. I aimed at getting 150bhp@flywheel but thought 12+psi would be needed, but achieved this with 10psi:) Good job really as the tiny bleed valve i have would only bleed enough air to get 10psi. Settled for 145bhp after setting more ignition retard for a bit of safety but still very pleased:> Uprated actuator soon to be fitted!!

bloody good show old chap, pic doesnt work by the way. best i get the hog done now, just hope it doesnt take as long as yours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Im sure you wont take as long as me hoggy, as you know i did drag my heels a bit with the conversion*wink*

I know its a small pic but its the only link i found that works (im not that great with pc's)!!!

As for the rest of the spec....

1380-all usual gas flowed/lightened bits-kent cam-1.5rockers-rimflow inlet valves,std exhaust-play mini exhaust-8.5-1CR-11cc omegas-straight cut drops and box and x pin diff-grey clutch diaphram-ap plate-errrrr thats about all i can think of!!!!!

UPDATE..

Just had another Rolling road with a stronger actuator fitted. Had to get a new needle made up as the mixture could not be set low enough on tick over!! Think i need to look at the jet holder as it seems to be moving slightly?? And the other thing is im getting a few degrees of ignition retard, only about 4-5 deg between idle and 4000rpm??? Is this due to a worn dizzy/drive? The weights are locked and no vacuum connected.
