fitted a set of metro turb discs and calipers today, just want to check with you guys that firstly the calipers are on the correct way, with the single bleed nipple at the top. also how are these bleed?
is it with the two bleed nipples in the middle of the caliper at the same time, if so whats the one at the top for?

cheers,
adam.

Yes they are fitted correctly.

I think in the Haynes manual (for a metro) it says bleed the two middle nipples at the same time then bleed the top one. I always bled the outside most middle nipple first then the inside one then the top one, this seemed to work fine.

the manual says both middel ones at the same time and then the top one...

I use that method and it works fine for me.

Have you used the right bolts to hold them on? If you have kept your mini hubs and used metro 4 pot calipers you need to use era turbo caliper bolts.

This is because the bolts holding the calipers on a metro are M10 metric, this thread will not fit the mini calipers. However, if you use the mini bolts, these are 3/8UNF, and the shank (plain section) of the bolt is a slightly smaller diameter than the metro M10 bolt, so the calipers are not located properly. Obviously when it comes to brakes this is no good. The ERA turbo bolts have a shank of the correct 10mm, with a threaded section of 3/8 UNF to allow you to do a proper job. They are available from Somerford minis and do not cost a fortune considering how important they are!
