Almost ready to fit my engine!
It's only taken me since last christmas to build!!!

I'm definatly gonna fit a front rad and intercooler.
I've got my hands on a new alternator made for a transit!

It looks similar to a mini one, except the mountings are upside down.
This means if I make a slider bracket that bolts to one of the head studs, the alternator should be up out of the way, giving me more space for the rad. (Anyone else tried this?)

Also been told that a 1.6 maestro dizzy cap will fit and has side exit plug leads. Again a few more mm clearence up front.

I think I will mount the oil cooler as far to the left as possible, anyone know where I can get pipes made to my specification?

Off to the scrappys this weekend to find a suitable rad.

Any words of wisdom welcome :)

hi

if you undo the bolts hlding end casing on you can ussually rotate the end plate to align with the other mounting so alternator can fit in normal position.

If you want it up out of the way, then cool. Mounting for the adjustable arm could be done by welding a U cross section to the UES steady and having it drill to take a bolt through so the static end of the alternator adjuster goes on there and the sliding end is at the alternator end.

If you want custom hoses Hose doctors or PIRTEK would be able to do them on the spot, they do JCB and industrial hydraulics so mini stuff would be low end to them.

In respect of caps, best bet would be to go in with a cap to a lucas agent and get them to look it up in the book and cross reference for a side exit. Let everyone know when you find one!!!
