hi all,

i just thought i would share photos of my daily driver runnabout while i do the honda conversion on my mini, its my R5 turbo. Ive only done a few subtle mods to it, and its lowered 35mm, tried to keep it as standard as possible but not too dated.

heres some pics...

and pics from when fitting my silicone hoses...

Has that person got the records mixed up? All of the cars are increasing in numbers apart from the a610

i'm more a volkswagen boy at heart, i can see the appeal though! I always thought the carisma ones looked far to over the top, but you had to admire some of the work. i seem to remember one of them running about 45 psi or something silly.

Very good call - I was buying a fun everyday car in the summer and was very torn between the R5GTT or a Cossie....

I went for a 2wd Sierra in the end as i fancied something rwd, although looking at your R5 makes me kinda wish I'd bought one of those!

Ive been wanting to get another one of these for years! My first car was an R5 turbo. *hehe!*

You'll do well not to spend stupid amounts tuning it though.

I think i still have a head, back beam and some other bits for one of them kicking around.

I'll let you know what i have left James.

Looks fairly standard apart from a coat of paint.

Tell tale sign of no side decals, which are no longer available i think.

I drill holes in everything..!

I like the ratchet strap around the intercooler.

Is that to keep the end tanks on?

The intercoolers have a habit of blowing the caps off at anything from 16psi above. Si the decals are still available but they arent cheap!

didnt know if you would love it or hate it!

so no more rachet straps :) :)

but yeah thats what its for, to keep the ends on under high boost!
