I've got some traveller woodwork that has been rubbed down at some point in the past. What sort of sealer and/or varnish should it be treated with prior to refitting?

Yacht varnish - several coats
The problem may be in matching colours if you dont do all the woodwork at the same time.It may be possible to stain it all to an even colour before varnishing but it probably wont look like the original if you do.
