I know this isn't a nissan forum, but you lot seem to know everything, so here goes.

I am really tempted to get one, as they seem reasonably priced, and pretty damn fast, plus my mate had one and that had been tuned putting about 320 horses down at the wheels, with a little tweeking and went like fook!

I was just wondering whether people had any idea what the price of parts is like and how relaible they are. I guess parts will be a bugger as its a japenese import.

For those of you that don't know what they are, they are basically skyline estates.

Thanks
James

are they rwd?

the ones on ebay seem fwd?

if fwd, just buy a t5 for a fraction of the price (youll have enough left over for a mandatory flat cap)

I thought they were a skyline-with-a-butt and a RB25DET?

Yep, its a Skyline GTST underneath pretty much, so RB25DET and RWD or 4WD I think. Look really good with an R34 GTR front end conversion and then finish it off with a highly tuned RB26DETT.

i just typed a masive long post but lost it :( probably for the best, lol

nissan's especialy skylines and such are expensive for parts... as much as 3 time the supra's equivalent
i had the choice of owning one of my dream cars (R34 GTR or Supra) i chose the supra because of the price of parts,

being jap they are very reliable but i have heard a few (quite a few tbh) stories of how they just stop for no reason then will start when they feel like it with modified skylines (although it tends to be the R33) the engines are the same either RB25 or RB26 and then DET and DETT basically single and twin turbo i am a member of a skyline owners club that i found extreemly usefull for info but im not on my desk top and dont know the address off hand

Yes i moved to the darkside *happy*

as above basically a skyline estate, RB engines in various trims, rear and awd. parts are VERY expensive, as they suffer "skyline tax" hoever, generally standard examples are reliable, issues if over-rev'd they will run a big end bearing, if ran over 1 bar boost on our fuel on the 25det you will crack a ringland on No6 piston, and the ceramic turbo will crap itself before then anyways. some people get away with more, but with the price of spares, its not worth the risk! good cars if left standard, but if i was lookign at one, id be considering a subaru legacy RS, bit smaller but every bit as comfey and there all 4wd.

turbo 16v k-series 11.9@118.9 :)

Thanks for the input, I like them because no one has a bloody clue what the hell they are!

I will probably hold fire for the moment and decide what I really want to do.
