I have a thick flange Cooper S block measured at +0.020" bore. Bores measured by The Head Shop UK, 2.801" at the very top and bottom of the bores with 2.8015" just below the top ring land. That indicates the the bores were machined to 2.801" and there is 0.0005" wear. I am told that a quick hone and a new set of rings would be good enough and clean up any marks on the bore left from storage.

As stated in the title, there are no bearing caps for this block, not my fault, I bought this block knowing this and was looking at the Swifty caps as this was going to be a screamer 1100 (1071) 16v build anyway. (class A at the British Mini Showdown*wink* )

This thick flange block has not had any machining off the top of the block, the original stamp marks can be seen clearly.

Other things. One of the engine steady bolts had sheared off, and some one had a go at removing it and then broke the 'easy out' in the process. This has been correctly repaired. the broken 'bits' were drilled out and a stainless thread repair coil fitted. There is also a coil fitted on the '11th' head stud over the waterpump (which is through into the water jacket). perhaps this is normal? I do not know, but i do know that it was a 5/16 unc bolt that was originaly fitted there, and Im sure if you removed the coil its a 3/8 UNF thread?

A little surface rust as you would expect from something this old that has been lying round for a good few years, nothing that wont cleen up.

However

I also have a set of +0.030" flat top Powermax pistons without rings ready to go onto a set of Cooper S rods. The Head Shop UK say that they may well be able to get new rings for these pistons, however, if they cannot, Im sure Total Seal would be a good bet, they have not let me down yet.

So, taking into consideration the rare nature of a thick flange Cooper S block that has not had the crap machined out of it, with a useble +0.020" bore, despite the missing caps, must be of use to some one. I saw recently a std bore block of the smae nature with no caps sell for over £250 on ebay so I am open to offers with respect to this Perhaps £200. I am also open to offers for the +0.030" flat top pistons and Cooper S rods £150 the set. I would have to double check the Rods are all the same numbers, I cannot for the life of me remember, lol.

Those who know me, know that i dont take the piss, and I describe everything as best as I can.

I need to generate some cash to get the nitrous fitted to the K1275RS 16 valver

If there is any questions You would like answered, ask away

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be...
So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...
