Costa del Northern Ireland :)

Ive just rebuilt my 998 turbo. and replaced the crank with a low milage automatic one.

now with the engine all built up and in the car i fitted the starter but the pinion rubs the flywheel *frown*

so my thoughts are that my steel flywheel has been lapped to many times and now sits further up the taper of the crank. (i have lapped this flywheel 3 times)

would any of you think it would be ok to either make up a spacer for the starter or storten the pinion to clear the flywheel??

cheers guys

That mini is determined to Kill me!!!!

Spacer or washers under the starter bolts sounds easiest.

I have to use spacers for mine to clear (about 1.5mm). Never had a problem using them.
