black water?

can anyone throw any light on this?

checked my water before heading off to castle combe and to my suprise the water was black, yes black!

as it had been running fine i didnt think anything of it, drove 170 miles each way and about 6 laps while there and the level is still at the top, but its still black?

anyone experienced this before?

Glade you made it home of with your funny water. still haven't heard of that before, maybe the anit freeze has gone funny??

its not oily, its as if its been filled with black ink?

how old is the coolant?

At a guess your antifreeze has either reacted with something or maybe you have inadvertently mixed two diff types of anti freeze? something like that?

In either case i would dump coolant, flush it all out and then refill with fresh and see what happens.
