Hi,

I have taken out my dizzy this morning and just want to double check i have taken out the right drive but. People have said if i leave it in then it can cause huge problems. This is what i took out with a 5/16" bolt, is there anything else to come out??

Thanks

Jon

You have taken out the right part, you just need to cap the hole it came out from..

Job done..

As above, correct part out but make sure you order the correct cap - the A and A+ caps are different.

Excellent - Thanks for the replies.

I have just measured up the dizzy as I am going to make my own blanking plug.

Have got access to a lathe and stainless at work so shouldn't be too difficult to make up.

Thanks again

Jon

Aluminium would be fine and a lot easier to machine..... after all, the dizzy was just cheap die-cast alloy (not even aluminium).

Make sure you get the O ring groove right, it's quite a small section ring if you're using the standard size, otherwise it will leak.

Never seen the sense in all of these elaborate blanking plugs/bungs.

A 27mm core plug available for around 15p does the job perfectly and looks completely OEM.

What? Obviously it's an aluminium alloy :)

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem.

I just got one of these from MRA:

For what it cost, I didn't see the point in asking somebody to mill me one. Quality and fit is spot on too.

Small piece of advice with these. Drill a hole in the center, not all the way through, and tap it M8. This will allow you to pull the thing out again when you need to, as they are bloody tight!!

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...
