was asked to look a late cooper sport today (lovely car, 14k 2 owners, always garaged!)

its suffering form a squeek, that isn't consistant with the suspension travel. Its coming from the O/S tower bolt. ive told her to not worry about it as it will cost a fortune to change.

has anyone got any ideas as to why this would be happening as im quiet disappointed that i couldn't explain it to the owner. The rubber looked in good condition, the bolt was tight.

was also nice to drive a complete mini again lol

Remember there is another rubber underneath, between the body and subframe, that you can't see easily from the top.

Is there any movement in the subframe on that side when you go lock to lock when sat still?

either the other rubber as tom pointed out of possibly the cone? but i would have thought that it would be more consistant.....stranger things have happened though!

did it squeek when going from lock to lock whilst stationary? my mini used to suffer really bad with the steering rack squeaking against the body, that sounded like the tower bolt
