When I was younger I always used to see people with yellow headlights driving the opposite way on motorways at night, but dont see them as much anymore.

i understand it that aslong as the beam emitted is white, then tinted yellow lenses are fine. i have heard that by tinting your lenses yellow results in a poor quality of emitted light thus reducing the distance you can see infront of you, i wouldn't bother if it was me Edited by Tom H on 28th Feb, 2009. |

I guess the reason you don't see them any more is that France no longer use them so you don't have to tint them to cross the channel, hence you don't see them.

As you are allowed to tint them to travel I don't see why you can't have them all the time, as slater points out. 2008 we had to tint the M3, M5 the 911 and my shitty golf. offence in the UK would be displaying light other than white to the front, i would need to check dates as certain year vehicles may be exempt. and there is no doubt loop holes for vehicles visiting. most cops would just give you a VDRS if they were not happy with them, however they could (if they were harsh) slap you with a fixed penalty.
