As it's the top of the engine it usually only comes out when you have high crankcase pressures.

So you either need more breathers or new rings

I have the breathers both sides. Interesting thought about the rings as i am burning oil, thought it would be rings or bores needed honing.

Exuse my lack of knowledge, if the rings have gone why would this create pressure in the rocker cover.

combustion blowing by the rings into the lower block/ gearbox. this is connected to the rocker cover via the pushrod holes.

because the combustion gasses get down past the rings and into the crankcase. this then causes a pressure build up and you get excessive oil coming out of the breathers.

i believe that the rocker cover one can be due to the oil not being able to drain back into the crank case very well because it is under pressure? i should know this but i seem fuzzy on the reasoning tonight!

I think if the rings have gone, you'll end up with oil coming out of all orifices!

Is it an alloy rocker cover? I thought my cap was leaking, its not the cap, its the filler neck. The cap fits on to a filler neck which is just a short piece of tubing, they roll the lip of the tube over to form the rim for the cap. This tube is just pressed into the hole in the alloy rocker cover; the oil was getting out around the tube.

before you do make sure all yourbreathers are clear and not blocked,

especailly if you have them small kn type filters on as these can block easily thus causing crancase pressure and for you to burn oil. check first before ripping engine out.

always looking for them bigger bunches of bannanas
