1st to provide proof of a running Bimmy Conversion!

well,,, i see no reason why you couldn`t turbo inject one of these "Little" things,,, this std one with a single SU carb & std mini dizzy just screams *smiley*

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nticl79XXKE

I have noticed a whole lot of bollocks being bantered about as to the viability of twin cam small bore engines, & i`ve certainly had my fair share of people all around the world asking my advice after they had allready purchased conversion kits from other companys & am always happy to help out if & where i can,,, & it seems there was very little info avaliable for the small bore twinky punters at the time,,, well all that is in the past & i hope i`ve steered most of them in the right direction because this one is an absolute little ripper.

I`ve made 3 small bore twin cam engines myself now & i`m certainly going to throw a turbo onto one of them soon,,, well as soon as my 1510cc K1200 head-ed road engine is finished *smiley*

This particular engine is a std, bare bones, 8V, on 998cc (taken out to .080 oversie) single carb & std dizzy,,, probably the very cheapest twin cam in the world, it cost me very very little to build,,, it`s probably the very slowest twin cam mini engine too, but hey,,, it`s a good cheap little run-around for me *smiley*

But Wow it just loves to rev *smiley*

Sounds Good.

I'm a bit behind you with mine. I might get the engine built next winter. then just need to prepare a car to fit it in.

I think Miniboo is near to running his.

I`m really starting to fall in love with this little donk & as most of you should know i`m very much more a fan of great big whopping big bore donks, but this one is just a sweet little screamer
*smiley*

& sorry about the crappoy video,,, it`s just off my phone camera *frown*

i`ll take another video with my helmet cam from in the car in a few weeks

Very good. I have plans somewhere amongst all my projects. I have a K100 head for instance.

I'd be interested to see what cutouts are neede on block and pistons.

wil_h,,, this one is only .080 oversize bore & have tiny reliefs the top of each cyl for the valves to clear,,, if you went for 120thou oversize (like another one i`ve made) then you don`t need these cuts,,, i`ve also built a 100thou oversize & moved the cyl head over so it has fly cuts in the top of the block but only for the inlets & they`re only tiny little ones that i did with my die-grinder,,, they just needed a whisker

& piston fly cuts are simply done to suit each engine build, i think we went 5mm deep in this engine, but it will depend on yout own engine, piston choice, deck height & position of bore centres etc as to where & how deep you need to go,,, but that all gets worked out on the "Dummy up" stage,,, its not hard & quite normal engineering practise for anyone worth their salt.

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Cheers for info Matt. If I use the engine for the hilclimber I'm restricted to 1000cc, so standard bore and stroke, or 850 stroke and +120 (iirc).

But if I use it on the road car it'll be +120 on a 998 crank (easier and cheaper).

Either way it'll be turbo'd

yeah so true mate,,, there are plenty being built with major potential *smiley* *smiley* *smiley*

This little one has killed 2 birds with one stone-->I just needed a cheap little run around donk for my road mini,,, & it also served well for my build guide info purposes as soooo many people havn`t a clue how to build a small bore twinky *smiley*

Ok, I`m off surfing Byron Bay, see you all next week *smiley*
