rite i dont get it when fitting turbo say too use 8mm inner fuel line so outer is just under 10mm so u need 10mm inner rubber pipe rite but the pipe on the carb is way too small so why use it when to get a good fit you are making a bottle neck any ideas

ps not long till me minis on the road just setting up tps megajolt

I don't quite get what you're saying, but you should ideally use 8mm internal diameter hose.

My interpretation:

The main fuel lines are 8mm internal diameter and 10mm external diamiter. So the rubber hose between the fuel lines and carb needs to be 10mm internal diameter, but the pipe on the carb is much smaller.

Will that create a bottle neck?

Don't think so, but you need to make sure you get a good clamp on the carb end or it will pop of.

EDIT: Have you got a preasure regulator in there??

Ah, I get it now. I just replaced the copper with flexible 8mm lines all the way along.

Yes, the return line is from the regulator, not the carb.....

Which regulator are you using (standard Metro Turbo or an aftermarket one?) and which stub pipe on the carb have you wrongly connected the return line to ?

Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ???

1.At the carb the pressure is lower (the regulator takes care of that)

2.There is much more fuel going along the fuel lines to and from the regulator than is needed by the carb, most of it gets returned..

3. 2M of an undersized line is much more restrictive than that little 6mm long bit at the carb inlet.

8mm supply, 10mm return is what most people recommend, just do it!!

right getting sick off keep saying thus, but i don't use 8 mm or 10mm piping. it's might not even be 6 mm ID. so if that's what you have use that.

Matt, is your return line bigger than your feed?

if it is, is it possible to say that you can use anything from 6-10mm lines as long as the return is larger than the feed?

I,m out of step again, but I have used 8mm small bore central heating copper pipe for both feed and return with no problems from this direction(plenty of other problems though !)

I'm with Matt. I used 6mm return and 8mm feed on the original TT, no problems.

I use standard feed pipe and a nobbed up 8mm return on the green one, also with no prblems. Or that might be the other way round. anyway, it's no problem (although I only have 30% of the power Matt has!)
