You may remember me posting a thread a while ago looking for work placement as part of my mechanical engineering degree. Well I managed to secure a job a couple of weeks ago. I will be working as a facilities engineer in a pharmasutical company. The job sounds really interesting. I will be working in a team that maintains the production line and monitors the clean room and climate control. It sounds like I will be getting plently of responsibility too which I am really happy with. I will be working there from April 6th until September 18th.

The best bits are it's only half an hour from my house and one of my good mates got the other position. Oh, and I'll be getting a good wage so I can get loads done to my new garage and hopefuly sort an aluminium rear subframe, the turbo motor and new interior for the mini. I might even be debt free by the end of the year *surprised*

I can't wait to get started now

Thanks for the hind words lads. Joey, I can see why you would regret not going out to work for a year. I can't wait to start. It's the section of my course I have been looking forward to most.

James, thats great news. I guess I know where my first few wage packets will be going now *happy*

Joey, about the subframe. I plan on making a subby that retains cones using alloy tube. I might incorporate an ARB too. I'll be plating over it for aero purposes aswell. Apart from the one Stef done a couple of weeks ago nobody has really made a big effort to make a light subframe. I don't want to go with a beam or coilovers because I'm a purist cunt so it's a good opportunity to get creative. I know it's probably a shit idea since minis are too light at the back already but it will still be intersting

Thanks Rob and Steve.

Steve, you are right. This is officially the start of my career, even though I've been in the garage for 5 years!
