another cam question....
im still getting bits for m45 supercharger set up and doing some reading from this site which is proving a great help...thnx all.
question is im usure which engine to try it out on for a suck thro set up.
1st choice is a 1380 stg4 freshly built, but is the vp3c cam too lairy?...not sure of the overlap and how much overlap becomes a problem...if it is suitable then would the current 1.5 rockers cause an issue? im looking for a bit of fun in a daily driver by the way.
2nd option is a 1293 stg3 but dont know whats inside as its still a virgin engine, untouched and relatively not driven...so an unknown quantity if im honest. Good thing with the 1293 is its a kit car and insurance say no extra £ because theres no standard engine for a kit car*surprised**happy*
i can also use this in a std 1275 but the car needs a fair amount of work and money on it so only at a push would i consider the latter.
all cars are su carbed.
look forward to any suggestions / advice...:)

Resident Cylinder Head Modifier

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

with forced induction it is hard to beat a normally aspiraed cam for the road dont go over anything with a 270 deg duration for the road with supercharger setup, UNLESS ..... you want to drive it balls out all the time

my advice for the road would be a MG N/A cam or the kent 266 for the road

well as the supercharger was an after thought for the 1380 and just at the point of completion, i will be leaving this alone..this cam is 276 duration from memory...damn!.
time for a rethink then..
pennies are a bit tight at the moment and i still have a few bits to sort on the supercharger kit. i was initially going to use a decom plate which would now be with a stg 3 head just due to cost, but while youve seen this thread benross, whats a rough cost for opening up the head to get a workable cr?
