Hi, had another question, and had no reason to start a nw thread.

Well here we go,

The 850 and 1071 crankshafts have the same stroke, obviously the 1071 crank is made or a fare superior material.

However my question is, would an 850 crank fit in a 1275 block?

Is there a need for custom thrusts etc etc?

Cheers, Oli.

No it won't fit. The journal size and spacing is all wrong.

It can be fitted in a 998 block with thick thrusts.

I find the easiest way is to super glue the bolt to the end of one of my fingers.

It's not the spacing that's the main issue bar the size of the mains. You'd need main bearings thicker than Nic's right forearm.

There were once cranks available that made a big bore block 850cc, but that's a different story.

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem.
