Right, this is the only thing in my way. and stopping me from starting the bloody car. I've been on with it all afternoon. Computers are not my strong point. e.g. I have no patience.

I did have some internal wiring issues but that's all sorted now.

My problem is this. When I have the pc running with the MJ software on. and then turn on the power to the MJ I get this error>:

Unsupported controller version.
MJLJ controller version 3.2.1 is not supported by this configurator. Please use a compatible version of MJLJ configurator, or update the controller firmware to one of the following versions appropriate for your MJLJ hardware.

Versions supported by this configurator:

MJLJ controller firmware V3.3.0 (V3. x hardware)
MJLJ controller firmware V3.4.0 (V3. x hardware)
MJLJ controller firmware V2.9.0 (V2. x hardware)
MJLJ controller firmware V2.10.0 (V2. x hardware)

What does it all mean......! *angry*

The PC is running V3.3.0 Controller software.

But how to I sort the Firmware issue out.

Anyone...?

Its sounds like the firmware and hard ware on the MJ unit aren't compatible? This is what happed to me. What version of MJ are you running?

EDIT: The wrong firmware will basically stop the MJ from being able to communicate properly with the software on your laptop.

Did you get a disc with the MJ unit?

Yeah matty,

It's all arse about face. I've just recieved a email from Brent @ Autosport Labs. And he's pointed me to correct download. So I'm going outside with the laptop right now. Fingers crossed it should work.

I'll let you know if it works.

Sorry to jump on your thread. Am I right in thinking there is a version of MJ that doesnt require the EDIS module it has its own coil driver? Or did I just dream it?

Not that ive seen...but stand to be corrected! Megasquirt on the other hand can run with or without an edis module depending on configuration.

HUGE bump here to avoid starting a pointless new thread.....

Am I right in thinking the megajolt needs to be powered up to get any form of comms with a laptop? I've got my new ECU sat here on my sofa, and simply plugging it into the laptop via the supplied cable does nothing. I just wanted to check what firmware/map it had on it!
