I am planning to modify my rollcage in the summer and weld it in, but due to the weight of CDS tubing I would Like to add bits like diagnal door bars and a piece across the front of the dash in T45 tubing.

is it possible to weld the two materials together, If so would mig welding be fine or would it require tig welding?

I just don't want to add much more weight to an already lardy car with more cds tubing.

As long as its steel you can weld it together and yes, mig is fine

Paul

I seriously doubt it!

Yeah its steel. Thanks, in that case my rollcage is getting seriously chopped about and modifed then, so only the hoops are CDS I just cant really afford a bling weld in one, so gotta modify what i've got.
