Its been a while since I bought a car, and the only places I can think to look are ebay, auto trader, and piston heads? Has anyone got any other places they look or prefered places to buy from?

Cheers
Matt

Depends what you are looking for, but if you are after a bargain, particularly at the cheap end, its worth trawling around the local newsagents windows -I,ve been lucky this way more than once.

pretty much the best places to look IMO, if you know what you want, check out the relevant forums...or there is always the local rag.

I bought my last car off a big forum for that car, but I usually look on piston heads, ebay and auto trader like you say.

If its something cool+retro you want retrorides has some wicked cars turn up.

Forums are the best place to look for good deals and most people try and sell them on there first before sticking them on egay etc.

Thats how I found that site. I literally spent 3-4 solid weeks trying to find something proper old, rwd and Jap. There was a KE70 on there for £450 last year which I was SO tempted by

I really like the R5s Matt, but I think you will be disapointed now that your mini is properly sorted.

A real man would be buying an e36 m3 right now... *wink*

Have to admit I am worried that my memories of the R5 being stupidly fast will be ruined. Are M3's actually that quick, I get the feeling they might be too refined to get the feeling of going quick?

Damn turbo minis...I haven't been in a car that gives me the same feeling of going fast since! *hehe!*

TBH top gear cool wall got that right you just look like a gimp going around in a E36 M3 I went for a quick spin in the mk1 last night, There was a dood about same age as my self in an M3 behind me, I kept looking back at him in the mirror thinking to my self gimp. About the only two things he could do, was go quicker in a straight line and go over speed bumps quicker. He pulled into a shop which I also pulled into and he came over saying had you there a few times what a tosser......
