Reads "my mates" max power whilst wearing my Mrs's underwear

just spent hours getting my clamp on and guess what, it clamps round the turbo manifold tight and the down pipe just falls off lol, its an original metty down pipe and i've got a avonbar clamp, im thinking that the clamp is designed for one of their down pipes i'e theirs is bigger and thats why mine dont fit ???

My sister is so fit I won't show anyone her picture

The aftermarket Maniflow 2" downpipe is larger bore than the standard Metro item, also the clamp has a right and a wrong way up, make sure you get this right.

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

yep so new clamps tend to be for the maniflow/minispares etc (the green one!) and the original clamps for the std pipe.

as phil says both are different sizes, the maniflow being bigger.

About 10mins on a grinder to the original clamp and it will fit a maniflow pipe

You probably know this already but the clamp only works one way round. Bigger side for the downpipe and small side for the turbo exhaust elbow, I Think.

The Std metro clamp will only seal properly on the metro (1 3/4") downpipe.
If fitting to a 2" downpipe, it need modifying. Basically, the smaller of the two diameters needs opening out to 2" dia.
The metro (1 3/4") downpipe will not fit onto a clamp designed or modified for a larger pipe.

Larger hole at the top isn't it?

Yeah i reckon it is dave, the casting is a lot larger than the pipe...

its easy enough to mod a std clamp as has been discussed. easiest to do with both bits off the car but still not hard to do it the engine is already in the car.
