Now i know most of you will probably think why the hell, and whats the point, but my car will be more show rather than go orientated.

I may want a decent amount of power, but the car isn't being made specifically for the track, as most of your cars are. Young and nieve you may call it, but each to they're own at the end of the day

What I'm after is the biggest intercooler you could possibly fit behind the front grille. A mate has a landrover IC on his punto and looks to be big enough to cover the entire grill area, but my only concern is that will having such a large intercooler cause any negative effects on the performance, for example, cause lag being so big?

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

Its always a trade off but TD5 intercoolers have been used very effectively by a few people so that may give the looks you want plus also the bonus of it being effective! *smiley*

Big doenst always mean best *wink*

SeriouslY, The TD5 is a pretty good intercooeler for our small engines, but for it's size is not that efficient...

That's not to say it's no good - it's perfect for our small engines, but the reason they are appearing on ebay is that with a 2.5l engine, it isn't efficient, so they get changed out...

*Edited* Apologies if my comments were taken to heart. Just meant as a little banter, but clearly it didn't come over this way.
TM is a site notably full of banter and free of 'hitler' moderators, that's why so many of us like it...

What about the space for your aux-rad heater matrix and oil cooler?

Bugger off, I'm getting there.

why would you need an aux-rad or oil cooler???

Im not going to be running either....

(well providing the oil temps are ok but i think they should be)

A good cooling system is all that is needed though *smiley*

from reading around i thought an oil cooler would be usefull, may not be necissary, but bound to do some good surely aswell as an aux rad. the cooling on a normal N/A A+ engine is hardly any good so i started moding the body to fit one on it so its sure to be a help on a turbo lump

As i said no aux rad is needed really. Any other bog std a+ thats overheating has problems *smiley*

Dan's 100bhp 1380 runs very cool with only a 2 core rad and no heater. it has no problems at all.

Most people running an oil cooler are doing more harm than good....

There's so many comments I could make about spammed-up (and Puntos in general come to think about it).

Still, if you're happy and we get a laugh, then the comment "each to his own" works wonderfully.

What intercooler does Miniwilliams run, hes got a whopper.

I was joking about the other coolers....

I will just be running my 2 core rad and wait and see about the oil temps. I reckon a good build has no real evidence of "kevving up". Unless it is completely lairy.

Mateys does look like a "Lax Power" job though.

Maybe if you widen your front grille this intercooler fits.
An additional advantage is the additional weight on the front wheels so you have a litte more traction. Don't know about the turbo lag though *happy*

Not very sunny swanage

i dont know iuf you lot have ever had the chance to look round a rnli hovercraft? they run two vw 1.9 tdi engines, and have two intercoolers in the 'roof' being force fed by two large vents. the intercoolers are in the region of 3 feet square and about 6 inches thick, each!!!!!!!

And on the 7th day........... God created turbochargers!
