So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

I have mine in the sump now Vegard, but...does it matter what temp the oil in the sump is?

Isnt it the oil temp in the galleries (after pump) thats important?

and I have feeling that there will be quite a difference?

I've got mine and the vans in the speedo housing. However I do have a sandwich plate so may move the sensor to that as a test at some point.

Well, unless you run a cooler I don't think that the temerature is that different. I once promised to check this for Jimbo but I've never come around to do it.
I'm not running a cooler on this engine, so sump is A OK I would believe.

hopefully the case, but i would have guessed that oil @ atmospheric pressure vs. said oil @ say 70psi, would be substancially different?

probably wrong, but .....?

In Ti I hope *wink*

http://www.minispares.com/Product.aspx?ty=...3002&title=SUMP PLUG OIL TEMP ADAPTO...

Edit: Just been on the phone with DT. The Racetech gauge is 3/8 BSP.

Now where do I find such a tap *wink*

Edit2: I just had a look around as I did feel that 3/8 did seem a bit on the small side. Have googled it, I now see that the drill size for a 3/8 BSP is 15.25mm...
Where the 3/8 comes from I have no idea..
Several taps on Ebay though.
