Everything is interchangeable between the spi engine and a standard carb mini/metro 1275.

You will need to swap over the flywheel and transfer housing as the spi mini has a crank position sensor and markers on the flywheel.

Other than that should be a straight forward conversion.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

Does it actualy need a new engine, or could the one you have be rebuilt?

I say this, because getting a decent A-series these days that dosen't need a rebuild (whatever the seller says) is very difficult.

A crank regrind and a new set of bearings might be a better idea.

Don't forget the oil transfer pipe as well as the thread in the block is different, we do a kit (MOC1019) which is for the spi filter housing with pre 92 block. Personally i agree with Wil though.

Glasgow

get stuck in and do the conversion; many of the traditional ways of getting more out your n/a engine will be pointless when you turbo it

do a search and see what comes up
